Countdown To Infinity War: Five Characters We Want In The MCU

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is coming to a new dawn, as Avengers Infinity War promises to take the Kylo Ren approach and "let old things die". With a whole new roster of characters being introduced in the next few Marvel movies, who would fit best in this universe? Here's some of our favourite picks.

We're excluding anyone who's already appeared in some form, and anyone who's already slated to appear.

1. Ms Marvel (Kamala Khan)

Despite only existing for four years, this Muslim-American super girl is one of the most popular heroes in the Marvel comics today. She's an energetic teenage Avenger who can expand and stretch her body at will, so like Mr Fantastic but the powers are cooler. After Infinity War, what remains of the Avengers will need someone with her energy to breathe life back into the MCU, and the upcoming Captain Marvel paves the way for her appearance.

2. Doctor Doom

While the Disney / Fox deal is still incomplete, there's still a lot of uncertainty regarding the First Family's appearance in the MCU. While I could easily have filled this list with the Fantastic Four and then Franklin Richards, since they have had such an enormous impact on so many Marvel stories, I'd rather see one of the most powerful sorcerers in Marvel take his rightful place in his throne in Latveria.

3. Uatu The Watcher

Okay, so we've seen the Watchers very briefly in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, there's no sort of evidence that any of them were Uatu. He's one of those characters in the Marvel Universe that changes the way stories are told, since he is an immortal, uninterfering character who merely watches everything (except when he isn't).

4. Morlun

Morlun is the unstoppable hunter who has almost killed Spider-Man twice, eaten Spidey's eye, and killed dozens of Spider-Men during Spider-Verse. He's a super-fast, super-strong, vampire-like creature who feeds on life force, and was part of one of the strangest Spider-Man stories of all time in "The Other", in which Peter Parker transformed into a spider and killed him. Super interesting stuff, really, but the main thing I want him in the MCU for is to hunt Spider-Man down for an entire, extremely intense, horror Spider-movie.

5. J Jonah Jameson

I could've filled this list with just Spider-Man's enemies, since I grew up on his comics and have always admired his rogues gallery. But the greatest enemy Spidey has ever faced is his old boss, J. Jonah Jameson. I don't want a JJJ movie, of course, rather, I'd like to see him complaining on the TV about Spider-Man and his enemies. Just once in a while, please?

And bring back JK Simmons for it, too.
