Review: Eraser Is 90's Popcorn Action At Its Best

This movie feature a parachute vs plane shootout and a poorly CG'd reptilian. What else do you need to know?

US Marshal John Kruger (Arnold Schwarzenegger) makes people disappear. He's so good at his job he's known as "The Eraser". When Lee Cullen (Vanessa Williams) steals information regarding international dealing of atop secret weapon, Kruger must protect her. But his enemies aren't from the company that she aims to expose, but from the company that John works for.

Guitar riffs hail his presence and he dual wields prototype weaponry, he is Arnold Schwarzenegger and it is the 90's. While he is better know for his 80's productions, the 90's was the decade he made his own. T2, True Lies, End Of Days, Kindergarten Cop, Total Recall and of course, Eraser.

Eraser is the pinnacle of film making. It is both beautiful and awful. Equal parts brutally violent and patently ridiculous. It features a veteran cast of James C's, Caan, Coburn and Cromwell, which is either accidentally brilliant or intentionally stupid. It's loud, explosive and my god is it enjoyable.

It's a shootout between a PLANE AND A PARACHUTE

Eraser is one of the forgotten Arnold films, and I cannot fathom why. Seriously, it has a shootout between a guy in a parachute and a plane, how do you top that? While it does slow down in the last third, it picks up when the guns start blowing up buildings. Do yourself a favour and watch this movie.
