Michael Bay strikes back with explosions, Mark Wahlberg, giant robots and a terrible child actor. Strap yourselves in, this is gonna be good.

Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen) has left Earth, seeking out his creator. Meanwhile, mankind has gone to war against all Transformers as Autobots and Decepticons continue to crash to Earth. Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg) runs something of an Autobot shelter, providing cover the dinobots, Bumblebee and the others. But an evil force is returning and the fate of Earth hangs in the balance.
The Last Knight is a mess. There's characters who do literally nothing. It's way too long, has to many human characters and doesn't really go anywhere. Does have some nice action and cinematography though. As usual the Transformers stuff is good, there's a "twist" that long time fans will get but no one else will which is nice and it kind of reminds of the first film. The child character does nothing for the whole movie, there's too many pointless appearances, Mark Wahlberg is awful but he always is and there's still TOO MANY HUMANS.
There's some historical stuff involving King Arthur which was very cool right up until the Michael Bay "humour" kicks in and then I stopped caring about 90% of everything. Anthony Hopkins and his robot butler a fun to watch and the action is the best it has ever been. The final action sequence is spectacular and Michael Bay continues to show off his eye for excellent visuals. There was one moment toward the end of the film that was, dare I say, excellent, feeling like the buildup of the past four films had finally paid off.

I don't hate this movie. It's quite fun at times. While I hoped he would improve a lot after seeing 13 Hours, I was wrong. It isn't bad but it isn't good either. Much like The Mummy or so many other modern blockbusters, it's an entertaining enough movie, provided you turn off your brain and try not to concentrate.
