Review: Fargo Season Two Strikes A Fine balance Between Quality And Confusion

Following up the excellent first season, Fargo Season Two turns back the clock forty odd years to the Sioux Falls Massacre, an event mentioned in the first season. Oh, and also there's UFO's for no apparent reason.

When a member of a prominent crime family shoots up a diner before being killed by Peggy Blumquist (Kirsten Dunst) in a hit and run, Lou Solverson (Patrick Wilson), a police officer, begins to investigate. But between a somewhat crazy Peggy, the victim's vengeful mother and the Kansas City Mafia, things are about to get wild.

For the most part, Fargo Season Two is pretty solid. Not as good as the first but decent all the same. Good acting, great characters, weird situations and solid action. It's good, you should watch it, that's all I'm gonna say about that. Now it's time for the bad stuff.

After watching the first season, I felt like I knew what I was in for. Then whammo, first episode, goddam UFO. And it's not an irregular occurrence. Best of all, there's no reason. The show runner has thrown out some half-assed reasoning but it makes no sense, serves no purpose and is purely aggravating.

But, other than the aforementioned space craft, Fargo's second season is pretty good. Check it out, just be prepared for intergalactic intervention.
