How to make an entertaining movie.
1. Cast some of the greatest actors to walk the Earth
2. Put them in a ridiculous situation
3. Have a good script for said actors
4. Enjoy your entertaining movie
Follow these instructions precisely or you'll end up with an awful James Franco/Seth Rogen comedy and you really don't want that.

When their job disappears and any chance of severance pay goes along with it. With foreclosure on the horizon, life saving surgery required, Joe (Michael Caine), Willie (Morgan Freeman) and Albert (Alan Arkin) hatch a plan. They're going to rob a bank but there's one small problem, none of them are under 60.
Going In Style isn't the deepest, most layered comedy of all time and it definitely stands upon the shoulders of its veteran cast but what a cast it is. Caine, Freeman and Arkin play off each other incredibly well, easy giving the appearance of old men who have known each other for decades. It genuinely entertaining through virtue of their talent.
There's some strange style issues as the movie goes on, including every transition and split-screen from every robbery movie made in the last twenty years. There's also a number of side plots that, while they do complete themselves, don't really serve any purpose.

But all that matters is the main three characters. It's impossible to deny that they're the best part of the movie and the fact the they're all older than almost everyone around them. While it isn't perfect, Going In Style is funny, entertaining and worth checking out.
