Review: Spiderman 2 Is Every Bit As Good As It Ever Was.

Often called one of the best superhero movies of all time, Spiderman 2 is considered a classic of comic book cinema, but is it really that good?

As Peter Parker (Toby Maguire) watched his life fall apart, the fine blance between normal life and spider life shattered into a million pieces. When mastermind Dr Otto Octavius (Alfred Molina) is caught in an accident that destroys his world and leaves his mind under the control of four robotic arms, Spiderman must return in earnest to save the day.

Spiderman 2 takes everything that was good about the original and turns it up to 11. The acting is better, even if it remains more than a little awkward at times. Alfred Molina as Doc Oc is inspired casting to say the least and he's hands down the best comic book villain ever put to screen. He's both sympathetic and menacing, the Darth Vader of superhero films. Once again, J.K. Simmons is an undeniable highlight as he chews through scenery and mocks everyone he encounters.

The action is taken to whole new levels as well. There's a great scene reminiscent of Rami's roots in horror and the dynamic between Oc and Spidey makes for some truly great sequences.

Spiderman 2 is easily the best Spiderman movie available and definitely stands tall as one of the best comic book movies ever filmed. So few films come close, let alone surpass the majesty of Rami's masterpiece.
