If you're expecting a gripping film filled with riveting performances and beautiful cinematography, well, go watch something else, you won't find that here. What you will find is one of the most enjoyable stupid action movies of the last decade.

Gibbons (Samuel L Jackson) is dead, a device used to drop satellites from orbit, known as Pandora's Box, is in the hands of someone who intends to use it, and already has. Xander Cage (Vin Diesel) is recruited to track down the team that has Pandora's Box and return it to the CIA. His team consists of Adele Wollf (Ruby Rose) a sniper, Tennyson Torch (Rory McCann) a slightly insane stunt driver and Nicks (Kris Wu) a DJ. Together they must face Xiang (Donnie Yen), Serena Unger (Deepika Padukone), Talon (Tony Jaa) and Hawk (Michael Bisping) a crack team of deadly operatives. It's going to get messy.

Where to begin. xXx Return of Xander Cage has the perfect amount of cheese, self deprecating humour, pop culture references and genuinely entertaining action that it requires to stand alongside the likes of True Lies and Demolition Man. It's a movie about badasses fighting badasses and it knows it. From casual jabs at the superhero epidemic to wonderful cameos, xXx stops caring about being a serious movie from the moment it begins.

Diesel and Yen are the major highlights of the movie, bringing most of the star power along with much of the ass kicking, and there's a lot of that. Yen often overshadows the charismatic Diesel simply by being even more charismatic. And to watch the two fight it out in a running battle on a busy highway is endlessly entertaining, as is just about everything else they do.

While one or two of the characters are a little aggravating and there's a few lines here and there that are too cheesy even for this movie, xXx Return of Xander Cage is a fun movie that no one should take as seriously as they are.
